22 January: Certificate II in Spoken and Written English Class Resume

The Certificate II in Spoken and Written English classes will resume on 22 January 2018.  The 2018 classes will continue to run on every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30am to 2pm.

Want to get into a career in disability/aged care? Get qualified to work as an Assistant in Nursing, Personal Care Assistant, Community Support Worker or Home Care Assistant.

The next course is scheduled from 23 January to 23 May 2018 and will be held at 23 Foster St, Newmarket.

No Fees for Australian/New Zealand citizens, Permanent Residents or Temporary Residents with the necessary visa and work permits on a pathway to permanent residency. Other conditions apply.

25 January: English Conversation Club Lesson Resumes

Come and join the thriving club that meets at MCC every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Our club members are mostly new migrants who cherish the opportunity to learn and practice conversing in English. These fun-filled classes are led by our dedicated team of volunteers - Michael Chung (Mong), Evelyn Wong, Evelyn Kuan, Lisa Ho, Kim Bott, Debbie Tam and coordinated by Sylvia Tiong & Kelly Wu. More club members are welcomed.

Updates from December 2017

Technicolour Christmas Show & Night Market 

Hordes of families descended on Diverciti Centre at 23 Foster Street Newmarket on 9 December and had a great time celebrating this festive season! A Christmas Musical Show by International City Church, Food Trucks, International Food Stalls, a Christmas market and Petting Zoo brought much entertainment and laughter to all who attended this special event.

Developing & Growing Small Business Programme

Programme participants applied their business skills learnt by preparing food and craft items and selling them at the MCC Technicolour Christmas Show and Night Market on 9 December 2017. The participants will continue to practice their business skills by participating in 2 more market events.

On 16 December, small business owners received 2 more coaching sessions from the experts.


This programme is funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.

Free Information Session on Citizenship

About 30 new migrants, mainly from Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar attended a free information session organised by MCC's Settlement Services Programme and funded by the Department of Social Services.

An Ethnic Liaison Officer from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection spoke about Citizenship application requirements, pathway, process and other related matters.
