Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care

Want to get into a career in early childhood education? Get qualified to work as an Assistant in a Childcare Centre, Nanny, Playgroup Supervisor or start your own Family Day Care.

The next course is scheduled from 17 April to 26 October 2018 and will be held at 23 Foster St, Newmarket. Limited spaces available so hurry and Contact us now if you want to Register for the next intake.

 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability & Ageing)

18 students commenced their studies to be qualified to work as an Assistant in Nursing, Personal Care Assistant, Community Support Worker or Home Care Assistant. The course is scheduled from 23 January to 15 June 2018.

The start date for the next intake is  on the 17th July, 2018. Limited spaces available so contact us NOW if you want to register for the next Intake.

English Conversation Club Lessons

Come and join the thriving club that meets at MCC every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Our club members are mostly new migrants who cherish the opportunity to learn and practice conversing in English. These fun-filled classes are led by our dedicated team of volunteers - Michael Chung (Mong), Evelyn Wong, Evelyn Kuan, Lisa Ho, Kim Bott, Debbie Tam and coordinated by Sylvia Yap and Janis Maino. More club members are welcomed.

Technicolour Chinese New Year Night Market

Our Chinese New Year or “Spring Festival” 春節 is the most important celebration in the traditional Chinese calendar. We Celebrated by organizing a Chinese New Year Night Market & Variety Show held on the 3rd February, 2018 which was a success with around 700-800 people in attendance with a great variety of Food & Drinks, Kids Activities & Entertainment by Various Performers. Among all those who attended were Hon. Stirling Hinchliffe (Minister for Local Government, Racing & Multicultural Affairs) as well as Mr. Trevor Evans MP (Federal Member for Brisbane) &  Hon. Grace Grace (Minister for Education & Industrial Relations) to name a few.

Let’s welcome 2018 and wish for a blessed and prosperous coming year!

Understand Centrelink Services & Payment

This month, we had an officer from Centrelink come in to share with us some information to help understand Centrelink Service & Payments. The session was held on Friday, 9th February, 2018 on the following topics:
  1. Changes to Family Tax Benefit
  2. Changes to Family Entitlements
  3. Education Payment
  4. Special Benefit payment
  5. Youth payment
  6. Help in an emergency
  7. Disability and Carer payment and more
A total of 28 People attended the information Session held at our Centre here in Newmarket.

Beach Safety Awareness 

Our Beach Safety Awareness was held on Friday the 23  February with 19 attendees. Our Attendees were educated by  a Life Guard  on the following topics:
  1. Keeping safe at the beach and in the water
  2. Swimming between Red and Yellow Flags
  3. Black and White Flags No Surf Zone
  4. Rip Tides

Technicolour Multicultural Festival

Date: August 25, 2018
Time: 4:30pm - 9:00pm
Venue: 23 Foster Street, Newmarket

Technicolour Multicultural Festival is a large festival held in Newmarket each year that brings together people from many communities, both cultural and geographic. It allows the communities to celebrate and showcase what makes them unique and serves as a point of expression for each. This expression is revealed in many ways, but particularly through live performances and food. It also serves as a point of contact between various communities and support services.
