TECHNICOLOR MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL 

The time has arrived for MCC's biggest event of the year! 

The Technicolor Multicultural Festival!!

Come down to 23 Foster Street Newmarket on August 25th, 2018 for a day of Family Fun. Try out the different cuisines from around the world, watch live multicultural music performances, let the kids go wild with the many activities we have planned for them. Don't forget we have a petting zoo and some awesome prizes to be won in our raffle draw so bring the family down and have a family fun day! Fun starts at 10:30am and it's FREE ENTRY!!!

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care 
 
Want to get into a career in Early Childhood Education? Get qualified to work as an Assistant in a Childcare Center, Nanny, Playgroup Supervisor or start your own Family Day Care.

The next course is scheduled to run from 2 August to 21 December 2018 and will be held at 23 Foster St, Newmarket. Contact us if you want to enrol for our next intake.

Commencement of Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability & Ageing) Course

Our Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability & Ageing) commenced on Tuesday 31 July, 2018. A total of 17 Students have enrolled for this course and have completed their Orientation with the Project Coordinators. 

There are no set dates for the next Intake for this course, however Expressions Of Interest for the course are welcome if you are looking to start a career in Individual Support.

English Conversation Club

Please come and join the thriving club that meets at MCC every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Our club members are mostly new migrants who cherish the opportunity to learn and practice conversing in English. These fun-filled classes are led by our dedicated team of volunteers -  Evelyn Wong, Evelyn Kuan, Lisa Ho, Kim Bott, Debra Chen and Daniel Murphy and coordinated by Sylvia Yap and Janis Maino. More volunteers and club members are welcomed.

UPDATES FROM JULY 
Multicultural Community Centre Annual Graduation 2018
 
MCC held their annual graduation on July 10, 2018 here at the center. The graduation was a great success with a total of 70 out of 130 graduates in attendance with their family and friends. We were honored to have Hon. Stirling Hinchliffe and Hon. Dr. Anthony Lynham grace the occasion and present  a speech each to congratulate the graduates and honor the work that MCC has done for the CALD community.
Ms. Khee Lar Paw, who had completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care course in June 2018 was chosen to share a testimony. She gave a moving speech about her life story about coming from a refugee camp to now becoming a childcare educator through the support of MCC/API.
We would like to congratulate all our students who completed and graduated from the following courses Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care, Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability & Ageing) and Certificate I in Business- SQW Traineeship
 
We wish them All the Best as they continue to pursue their dreams.
QUEENSLAND TRAINING AWARDS 2018
 
It was a jubilant evening for the Multicultural Community Centre on Friday July 27, 2018 when we were announced the 2018  WINNERS of the Community Training Initiative of the Year Award- Metropolitan Region at the award presentation night for the Queensland Training Awards held at the Brisbane Convention &  Exhibition Centre.
Our Director (Volunteer) of MCC and Principal of the Asian Pacific Institute Mrs. Jeannie Mok OAM was there to accept the Award and gave a short speech. Accompanying Mrs. Jeannie Mok OAM was our Director of Studies for API Faith Leong, Emily Logan our Compliance Manager, Sylvia Yap our MCC Project Coordinator and Ailyn Camus our Administrator for API.
Ms. Hui Wu who had completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care course with the Asian Pacific Institute, also attended the Queensland Training Awards night. Ms Hui Wu was awarded one of the top three finalist for the Equity VET Students of the year- Metropolitan Region.

A massive congratulations to MCC & Hui Wu on your achievements!!!
