Congratulations to our April 2018 class who have completed their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care Course. On their last day of classes our students came to school dressed in their traditional attire and brought traditional food to share for the class party.
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
 
Enrolment is now open for our next intake for the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care. If you are thinking about a career in childcare and love to be around children all the time, then this course is for you! Our next intake commences on 24 January 2019. Seats are limited. July 2018 Individual Support Class in their uniforms with their Trainer Ms. Maria Jackson. Our students have completed all their course lessons and are currently out on practical placements for the remainder of their course.

English Conversation Club
 
Please come and join the thriving club that meets at MCC every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Our club members are mostly new migrants who cherish the opportunity to learn and practice conversing in English. Please come along and join us at 23 Foster Street, Newmarket.

These fun-filled classes are led by our dedicated team of volunteers -  Evelyn Wong, Evelyn Kuan, Lisa Ho, Kim Bott, Debra Chen and Daniel Murphy and coordinated by Sylvia Yap and Janis Maino. More volunteers and club members are welcomed.

INFORMATION SESSIONS
UPDATES FROM OCTOBER 2018
Family Domestic Violence Information Session
 
In October there were two information sessions held here at MCC. We had representatives from the Department of Human Services give a talk on Family Domestic Violence and Centrelink payments. We had 28 participants attend this information session from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

A free information session organised by MCC's Settlement Services Programme and funded by the Department of Social Services.
Commenced: Work Skills Traineeship 

MCC has recruited 12 trainees for the Work Skills Traineeship. They commenced their traineeship on the 22nd October, 2018. This team of trainees is another very multicultural group as they hail from various countries- China, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Taiwan and Vietnam. Our trainees will be led by our project coordinators Al Bryan Canedo and Joshua Vergis.

They will be organizing two projects:
  • Technicolour Christmas Show & Markets on December 9, 2018
  • Chinese New Year Night Market on February 16, 2019
