UPCOMING INFORMATION SESSION
What happened in March
INFORMATION SESSION:
Changes to Centrelink Policies and Domestic Violence

Last month our SETS team organized an information session which was held on the 6 March, 2019. A total of 34 registered participants attended this session which was about two important topics:
1. Centrelink: Participants were informed by representatives from Centrelink about changes that have been made to the Centrelink policy about the waiting period for welfare payments for new migrants. They were informed about the waiting period, who it applies to, who it affects and who are exempted from these new changes. After the discussion there was an extensive Q and A.
2. Domestic Violence: In this session our participants were educated about the main types of domestic violence, Physical and Emotional violence. They were advised on where to seek help if they were experiencing domestic violence or if they knew of anyone who was going through any kind domestic violence.
