TECHNICOLOUR MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL
'FAMILY FIESTA' 

 
Three more weeks till the Technicolor Multicultural ‘Family Fiesta’! Bring your family and friends down to 23 Foster St, Newmarket, for a fun -filled day of activities! Indulge in delicious international cuisine from ethnic stalls and food trucks. There will be giant inflatables, a petting zoo and reptile stall, a ‘bubble man’ and many amazing games  to keep the kids entertained, awesome live performances featuring super- talented artistes, and a variety of incredible stalls with ethnic crafts and gifts. Another highlight is the massive raffle with fantastic prizes ($1200 air ticket, $800 DFO voucher, 60cm TV and lots more prizes) drawn later that afternoon. MCC EVENTS 
REFUGEE WEEK 2019 
 
On the 17 June 2019, to celebrate Refugee Week 2019, MCC helped organize an event for the Department of Home Affairs. DHA hosted a ‘Community Leaders Information Forum’, with over 260 community Leaders and representatives from South-East Queensland. The event was very successful, with several CALD leaders sharing their experiences. Mrs Jeannie Mok OAM, Director (Volunteer)of MCC, would like to congratulate Mr. Steve Biddle, DHA Regional Director, on his new appointment in Canberra, as  Assistant Secretary, Settlement Program, Operations Branch, Refugee, Humanitarian and Settlement Division, Immigration and Settlement Services, DHA. MCC wishes him all the best in his new position.

DGSB PROGRAMS 
English Conversation Club
 
Please come and join the thriving club that meets at MCC every Thursday from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Our club members are mostly new migrants who cherish the opportunity to learn and practise conversing in English. Please come along and join us at 23 Foster Street, Newmarket.

These fun-filled classes are led by our dedicated team of volunteers -  Evelyn Wong, Evelyn Kuan, Lisa Ho, Kim Bott, Debra Chen, Micheal Chung and Daniel Murphy and coordinated by Sylvia Yap, Sylvia Tiong and Janis Maino. More volunteers and club members are welcomed.
