Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability) (CHC33015)
The Multicultural Community Centre (MCC) in conjunction with Asian Pacific Institute (RTO No.6153) is offering this course for those wishing to gain entry into the aged care and disability support industry. The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability) runs for 16 weeks full-time including both 10 weeks of in-class lectures and 6 weeks of mandatory practical placement with an aged care facility and a disability services agency (minimum 120 hours). Essential knowledge and skills will be assessed through written work, practical tasks and industry placement.

This course is nationally recognised, and upon completion, students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to work as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in an Aged Care Facility, a Community support Worker, a Home Care Assistant or a Community Care Worker.

Students aspiring to continue with further study can upgrade to the Certificate IV in Ageing Support or Certificate IV in Disability Support, or diversify into other fields within Community Services. Students can also advance into Diploma level studies or other health care professions such as Nursing at a tertiary level.

Under this training, students from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds will be able to receive language support (if required) to enable students to work through their notes and to prepare for assessment.
